The bath is a great ritual to build in your life. It’s a space you can use to connect with yourself, cleanse, and purify.

The Magical Bath

The Magical Bath:

  • Prepare for a bath. Make sure you have everything you need, from candles to music and incense. Set up your tub or shower so that it’s clean, comfortable and relaxing–and don’t forget to put on some nice clothes!

  • Set up your space before getting into the water; this is an important step because it helps get into a relaxed state of mind right away once you’re in there (and keeps things from floating around).

  • Light candles if desired; sit down on one side of the tub with legs crossed over each other if possible, facing towards where the water comes out when showering/baths are concerned; meditate while listening to music (I recommend classical) or just enjoy being silent with no distractions around except maybe nature sounds playing softly in background if possible too!

Cleansing

Bathing is a wonderful way to relax your mind, body and soul. While you’re in the tub, use this time to let go of any stress or anxiety you may be feeling.

The water will help wash away negative emotions as well as dirt from your skin and hair. Your pores will open up with steamy warmth from the heat of hot water; this helps loosen dead skin cells so they can be rinsed away easily during your bath (or shower).

Purification

Purification is the act of cleansing and blessing a person or object. The bath is a great place to do this because it’s where you can be open and honest about your intentions, which are important for ritual work. You can add herbs or oils that have special properties for purification, like sage or rosemary; salt or other minerals like sea salt; even special water like moon water or from a sacred spring if you have access to one. If there are any negative feelings associated with taking baths (for example: fear of drowning), then consider working through those issues first before attempting this practice with someone else around – in which case I recommend starting by taking solo baths until they feel safe enough on their own terms before introducing anyone else into their world so they can learn how much fun magical bathing really can be 🙂

Blessing

  • Blessings for the water:

  • May it be blessed by the gods and goddesses of water, such as Neptune or Poseidon.

  • May it be blessed by any deities you have a relationship with, such as your favorite saint or deity

  • If you don’t have any specific god/dess that you pray to regularly, consider asking one of them to bless the bathwater for you!

If you have a bathtub, fill it with water. If you have a shower, use that instead! Add some essential oils (see below) to the water and mix them in with your hands or a small whisk.

great oils to use are:

Rosemary (for strength and energy)

Jasmine (for peace and tranquility)

Lavender (for relaxation)

Cedarwood (for grounding)

Cinnamon or clove (if you need a pick-me-up after a long day of work!)

Optional: If you have any crystals, gems or stones that you feel drawn to, add them to the water. This can be especially helpful if you are doing a ritual for someone else. For example, a friend of mine recently asked me for help with healing from an abusive relationship she was in. I did a bath ritual with rose quartz and lavender oil to help her feel more safe and secure in herself (and away from her ex).

If you’re feeling adventurous, add a few drops of food coloring to the water. This is more fun than it sounds! Get into your bath and enjoy!

Consecration

Consecration is the process of dedicating something to a sacred purpose. It’s a ritual to dedicate your body to the gods, or yourself, or even the water.

Consecration can be performed in various ways:

  • With an offering of incense sticks (or coffee beans) and some kind words spoken aloud while you light them up in honor of your deity(ies).

  • With music played on an instrument you made yourself out of natural materials (sticks and string).

  • While meditating on what it means for you personally for this object/person/place/idea/etc…to be consecrated.”

Bathing is a great ritual to build in your life. It can be done alone, with friends or family members, or even as part of a larger community gathering. Bathing has been practiced for thousands of years as a way to connect with yourself and others; it’s also an opportunity to reconnect with nature and the divine through rituals such as water purification, blessing ceremonies, or simply taking time out from busy schedules to relax in the warmth of hot water.

The bath is a great ritual to build in your life. It’s simple, easy and can be done anywhere.
